Complex Energy Audit
A complex energy audit is a powerful tool used for a comprehensive evaluation of the energy efficiency of an industrial facility. Through this audit, the energy performance of the facility will be assessed by identifying the energy sources used, energy flows, and any energy losses. SEEI Technology offers professional services through a plan of measures and actions that highlight energy-saving opportunities, cost reduction, and sustainability improvement.
Who is obligated to request an audit for their company?
According to the law 121/2014 art. 9:
Obligations of economic operators
(1) Economic operators who consume an annual amount of energy exceeding 1000 TOE (tons of oil equivalent) have the obligation:
a) to carry out an energy audit of the entire energy consumption system once every 4 years; the audit is prepared by an energy auditor and forms the basis for establishing and implementing energy efficiency measures.
Why choose to conduct a complex energy audit?
Identification of energy consumption
The energy audit allows for a detailed assessment of energy consumption in various areas and processes of the industrial facility. This helps understand how energy is utilized and identifies the main sources of energy consumption.
Identification of energy-saving opportunities
The energy audit reveals opportunities to reduce energy consumption by identifying inefficiencies, losses, or improper use of energy in industrial processes.
Recommendations for improving energy efficiency
Based on the collected data and information, the energy audit provides specific recommendations for improving the energy efficiency of the industrial facility.
Reduction of operational costs for improved energy efficiency
By identifying and implementing energy-saving measures, the energy audit contributes to reducing the operational costs of the industrial facility.
Improvement of sustainability and social responsibility
By identifying and implementing energy efficiency measures, the industrial facility can contribute to environmental protection and carbon footprint reduction.
Stages of a complex energy audit
Establishing the objectives of the energy audit, defining the purpose and scope of the audit, as well as collecting information about the industrial facility, including plans, technical documents, energy bills, and other relevant data.
Gathering and analyzing energy consumption data, including bills, consumption registers, process and equipment data, and infrastructure information
Analysis of energy systems used in the industrial facility, such as lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, machinery, and industrial equipment, to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for energy savings.
Visiting the industrial facility to gain a detailed understanding of how energy is used and to identify potential energy losses.
Using collected data to identify energy inefficiencies, opportunities for improvement, and prioritization of potential energy-saving measures.
Documenting the results and recommendations in a detailed report. The report should include information on energy consumption, identification of energy-saving problems and opportunities, recommended measures, and an estimation of energy savings, and their economic impact.
Presentation of the energy audit report to the company or the responsible management team. This provides an opportunity to discuss the results, receive feedback and plan the implementation of energy efficiency measures.
Carrying out and monitoring the implementation of the measures recommended in the energy audit report.
The plan of measures and actions will include:
- Energy cost reduction
- Energy-saving opportunities
- Energy modernization
- Implementation cost
- The period required to recover the investment
