Within the Large Infrastructure Operational Program (POIM), Priority Axis 11.2 is dedicated to energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy at the level of local public authorities. Specifically, it focuses on the following objectives:
- Improving the level of energy independence of local public authorities by obtaining energy from renewable sources.
- More efficient, environmentally friendly, and competitive economy, leading to sustainable development as part of the Europe 2020 Strategy.
- Achieving the European Union's objectives for the production of energy from renewable sources as provided in Directive (EU) 2018/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources.
Through Priority Axis 11.2, non-repayable funding is provided for various types of projects, such as:
Energy efficiency and modernization works.
Implementation of efficient and renewable energy technologies and systems, such as cogeneration systems, solar panels, and wind energy (excluding biomass) for self-consumption.
